Born in Bern in 1943, Peter Zumthor has risen to become one of the most interesting architects of the 21st century, winning both the 2009 Pritzker Prize and 2013 RIBA Royal Gold Medal. Since the launch of his own studio in 1979, Zumthor has designed a series of landmark structures, including the Sogn Benedetg Chapel in Somvitg, thermal baths in Vals and the Kunsthaus in Bregenz, as well as teaming up with design brands such as Alessi.
