Constantly experimenting with texture, colour and shape, ceramicist Ahryun Lee produces work that is a truly sensorial experience. This approach by the South Korean designer, who has held roles that include Assistant Curator at the 6th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale in South Korea in 2011 and teaching at the ceramics department at Central Saint Martins, has lead to a series of
collections that can be described as conceptual and experimental — where the conventional boundaries of ceramics are pushed and tested to the limit. The result is a series of collections that are at once abstract and familiar, with a unique ability to provoke a strong reaction upon initial encounter.
