The New English was established in 2009 by designers Paul and Judith Bishop and now lead by Barbara Desax. Choosing to base the company in Stoke-on-Trent, the traditional heartland of British ceramics, the brand is fiercely and demonstrably English, with all products made in the country.
The brand's interpretation eschews national clichés, instead looking to everything from Wuthering Heights to Damien Hirst for inspiration. The result is a series of collectable and long-lasting ceramics which resonate with a contemporary lifestyle.
