Kay Bojesen Denmark is dedicated to recreating the creative and entertaining universe of wooden figures created by Danish designer Kay Bojesen (1886 – 1958). A trained silversmith, Bojesen began his career with an apprenticeship with Georg Jensen and soon after embraced functionalism.
The birth of his son Otto was a catalyst for the designer's active fascination for children, toys and wood, which ultimately led him to start designing the wooden figurines for which he is renowned. Jewellery, cutlery, teapots and silver goblet also feature in Bojesen's portfolio, which at the time of his death numbered 2000 pieces.
